The British filmmaker caught the eye of Tinseltown producers with his low-budget debut, Monsters, and was stunned when he was asked to helm the blockbuster remake. The offer was the fulfilment of a lifelong dream for Edwards, but the severe pressure of walking onto the set to work with stars such as Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Juliette Binoche sparked anxiety attacks. Edwards tells Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “I really felt overwhelmed, but then I thought about how I’d worked all my life to get to this point and that I couldn’t turn it down. “Making the film turned out to be the hardest thing I’ve ever done, mainly because of the pressure I put myself under. Panic would come and go all the time and I controlled that by telling myself, ‘If this is the only thing I ever do in my life, I’ve got to go out in a blaze of glory’.” Copyright 2014 World Entertainment News Network.
